I am a female working in the sheet metal union. I started my apprenticeship at 17 years old. When I started working with T.H. Martin, the only experience I had was knowing how to weld, but the apprenticeship taught me everything I know as a third year apprentice. We make great money especially for kids your age. At 20 years old I own a new 2021 truck that I got to buy myself and I'm making more money than all of my friends. Being a women in this trade is challenging but highly rewarding and I truly hope to see more women in the trades
